A Little Bit More About Me

Hey, I'm Autumn!

I'm a trained doula and a labor and delivery nurse, and I fulfill my soul by nurturing mothers and their babies.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of becoming a healthcare professional who cares for women and babies. Guess what? I went to nursing school, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and went on to obtain my RN license. Since then, I’ve worked as a labor and delivery nurse, and over the course of my career, I've had the privilege of taking care of over 1,000 moms as they bring their sweet babies earthside. That dream came true!

I find my work as a labor and delivery nurse immensely fulfilling and an absolute privilege. But I wanted to expand my passion and care for moms and babies in an even greater capacity—from a slightly different angle. So, I broadened my horizons in the world of birth work and completed a DONA-approved Birth Doula course, becoming a professional doula! I absolutely love working with women and babies; nurturing the mother-baby dyad is truly soul work for me.

I’m a Christian, a wife, and a mother of two (with a dog and a cat—so it’s a full house!). I enjoy talking about birth, sipping coffee, vibing to good music, spending time in nature, worshiping at church, and hanging out with my family and friends. I'm a C-section mom and a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) mom. Birth stories are my jam, and I can’t wait to see how yours unfolds!

I’m looking forward to helping you have the most satisfying and empowering birth possible.

With love and gratitude,

Autumn Burns, BSN, RN (Birth Doula)
